Dalle immagini, e da un concerto che tenne qui a Roma qualche anno fa, avrei detto che "lo sceriffo" fosse molto più anziano anch'io, ma forse non erano solo le foto, ma il fatto che, per quelli della nostra generazione, fosse lì, sulla scena, da sempre: esiste uno spartiacque temporale soggettivo legato al momento in cui si è cominciato ad ascoltare musica con consapevolezza. Quando ho iniziato io (1973) Who Do You Love e I'm a Man erano capisaldi della musica "classica", "stratificati" dai Quicksilver, dai Doors, dagli Yardbirds.....
